The Shea nuts are carefully handpicked, the best amongst them are the freshly dropped ones from the tree. The pulp is removed from the nuts and then boiled with water. Thereafter, they are sun dried. The next step is to crack the shells to remove the kernels. The kernels are then sundried again. Next, the kernel is roasted to facilitate easy extraction of the butter or fat and the grits are grinded into a paste. The process continues by kneading the paste in water to capture the fat into an emulsion, boiling the mixture to separate the fat and skimming off the fat. The final cooling process leads to shea butter. The Shea Butter floats and it is collected and allowed to cool in special selected containers that prevent any form of contamination.
